New Delhi: Fugitive diamond trader Mehul Choksi has also gone missing from Antigua, an accused in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam in India. Mehul Choksi’s lawyer Vijay Aggarwal claimed that the Antigua Police has started a search. ‘Information given to the Government of India’
In a special conversation with WION, Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne stated that his government has reported to India the disappearance of Mehul Choksi, along with information with Interpol Is being shared. Fugitive Choksi is wanted in a PNB fraud case worth Rs 14000 crore. He had fled the country in 2018 and India was demanding his extradition.

In a conversation with WION, Gaston Brown said, ‘The missing person (Mehul Choksi) report which was kept locally, is now being shared with Interpol. Choksi has been missing from the country for the last 24 hours. Local authorities are trying to locate the vehicle he used last time.

‘Choksi will be sent back to India’
What are the chances of his extradition, and being sent back to India? In response to this question, Gaston Brown said, “We believe he will be extradited, but after due process.” All his appeals will be dismissed, then we will take action to arrest him. Gaston said, I want to tell the people of India and the whole world that Mehul Choksi is not welcome in Antigua and Barbuda in any way, we want to get him out of the country.
